Founder’s Note
As a mother, my journey into early learning began with my daughter, the little spark who made me reimagine what it means for a child to thrive in a learning environment.
Growing up in India, I experienced the intense pressure of academic success from a very young age. I found joy in literature, science and arts, but struggled with mathematics, not because I couldn’t understand it, but because the way it was taught shaped my perception that it was difficult. That belief stayed with me for years.
I knew I didn’t want my daughter to grow up with that same weight. I wanted learning to feel natural for her— effortless, enjoyable, and alive with curiosity. I wanted to first understand how she learns, and then nurture her in a way that felt like play, not pressure. That intention soon grew beyond my own family and became the seed of the Winterberry. My mission is simple: to offer to every child what I wished for my own— a space to feel safe, to be understood, and to grow into their fullest, brightest selves.

Like a winterberry that lies quietly through summer before bursting into bright red fruit in the heart of winter, a child’s potential often blooms in unseen ways before revealing itself to the world. That’s why we focus on presence, observation, and nurturing care. We honor each child’s timeline, allowing learning to emerge not from pressure, but from trust, playfulness, and connection. We build a foundation for them to perceive learning as an effortless and enjoyable part of their lives.
